Communications problem results in slew of Amtrak cancellations, primarily in Midwest

Amtrak is restoring service after a slew of prepare cancellations, primarily within the Midwest as a consequence of “a rail-industry management system that continues to expertise intermittent communications points,” based on Amtrak spokesperson W. Kyle Anderson.

The {industry} management system is used to connect with different railroads, Anderson mentioned. Amtrak trains can function on freight rail traces, so the trains have to connect with freight railroads to start their journey – that communication was down.
